"My work is influenced by materiality. The selected materials inform the process, technique and directs the research to the point where contextual research becomes a conceptual time piece. Each time I sit and stitch, I choose to use different thread thereby distinguishing a different moment within the making process. These different moments are directed by the outcomes of the research undertaken. The research dictates the time piece and the materials inform the research, they are ontological.
The research is also a process whereby reviewing the past, frames the present and influences the future, it’s a process of gaining knowledge and obtaining a variation of perception whereby encompassing these with philosophical theories focuses on different dimensions of moral life".
